They just called from the Utah/Nevada border with minor engine trouble. While going up the first hill encountered in some time, the engine bumped, or bucked mildly in 3rd and 4th gear and they report apparent loss of power. Recommended checking the point gap.(points and condenser new when they left) . Payson reports that the gap seemed a little small. He readjusted to .018" and re-timed the distributor by ear. Early reports of the results are good. No immediate signs of bucking, and apparently regained some power. Suspect that the point lobe is wearing prematurely due to lack of proper lubrication (the new points did not come with grease, and the parts store was out of stock, so we used a small amount of regular grease)

Weather is reported mild by local observers. Low 80's with chance of heavy afternoon rain.

Latest position shows them between Clifside and Silver Zone, crawling up a pass at 34mph!

All fun.
