Subject: Leaking Oily Fluid??? looking for some advice.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hello,

My new bride and I just made a trip from South Dakota to Los Angles then on up to "Live Oak Music Festival" north of Santa Barbara, CA and then back to LA (MANY GREAT WESTYS TO LOOK AT, ANY FOLKS FROM THE LIST GO?), no troubles everything was great.

Then.insert dramatic pause.wait for it.

I went to the grocery store, stopped to get gas and noticed a small drip under the engine, I looked in the engine compartment and it looked like the water pump was spattering a little fluid around but not much. I checked the coolant levels and they were fine, I did not have far to go so I made it a ways and stopped again, this time More of this oily fluid spattered further and more dripping under the van, it is in line with the belts so it was spattered in a uniform pattern and upon inspection it still seemed to come from the water pump but since more was spattered it was harder to tell. Only about a half mile till home so I thought I would at least get there. I got there no problems, but the temp gauge moved up quicker than it had the whole trip here from SD, even going up hills. Once I was home I checked level of coolant, and was just fine, oil is good, other fluids great as well upon quick inspection and no hoses seemed to be leaking.

If anyone has any thoughts that would be great and a good Mechanic in the North Hollywood, CA area as well. If anyone has a thought and wants to see some pics please let me know and I can send some e-mail friendly pics.

Regards,

Bill
