Not saying all the transplant stuff is out of line or anything like that, I do have an SVX in mine, but one fine little option is to just throw a GoWesty 2.3 in there. It's at your door for under 4K with a great warranty. Ask me how I know.....well I'll tell you, I had a 2.3 GW engine and it was wonderful....well, still is, different owner who put it in his Syncro. Runs great! Remember, some of us have had GREAT luck with the 2.1. You just don't hear from us because we are out there driving, enjoying. Just met a local guy at a Father's Day BBQ, yesterday, and he opened his garage door and has a beautiful Westy inside. Asked him about it and got a nice tour........he's had it since 93 and is happy as hell with it, never has had problems. Even says it has been very reliable......What? A reliable stock 2.1 still in place after 127K? Yup...... Just throwing a wrench in there to muss up the hair on all the conversion freaks mojos.................I'm just saying, one GREAT option is to replace in kind...... Miguel
