My husband purchased a 08' Elantra with a sticker price of 17,000 for 11,000 with factory rebates and dealer incentives. Then we got a 2000.00 rebate from the state was we traded in a 99 Volvo XC. If the new car was getting at least 10mpg more than the trade in the rebate was availabe. So 9,000 later plus a free upgrade to a 100,000 bumper to bumper we have a cheap fuel sippin economy car. The Elantra doesn't drive anywhere as nice as the volvo or even our 87 Westy but it fit our budget. He has a 200 mile roundtrip drive to work to make and mpg's were important. As soon as we have our van working correctly he'll take that to work on the days he has to work late. Instead of driving all the way home he'll pop the top in the parking lot. Get a full nights rest, use the shower in the central office (works for ATT),help the environment by keeping 200 miles of exhaust spew out of the air, save wear and tear on the Hyundai, save gas money,.....Hows that for Westyconomics???
