One of the consequences of installing that console up front, is relocating and shortening the shifter throw. I drove Leon's first 2.2 Subie conversion in Moab years ago (this one I think), and the most noticeable improvement, aside from motor performance, was what shortening that shifter linkage did to the positive feedback feel of shifting. I was amazed at how much difference it made. Doesn't even feel like a vanagon, which tends to have that vague, sloppy feel. By the way, NO, I'm not Leon's marketing dept. ;-) ... but I am a fan. bob
