Maui is a nice Island but it is one of the hardest to camp on due to a lack of legal locations. We were there in December/January and I ran into some fellow Alaskans driving a rented Westy. They had been on Hawaii, Oahu, and Maui with it and found Maui to be the worst for camping. It was bad enough for them that they ended up at a friends condo.
