dear fellow westies This morning as i traveled to my first coffee i noticed something unusual about what i was seeing infront of me... the radio *aerial* seemed to be across the window ... first i couldn't understand what was out of order ... i could only comprehend that something was not right... i pulled over and sat looking out my window ... the aerial was askew ... at first i wondered how come ... was this supposed to be one of the ways the aerial moved... i concluded ...no... i got out and looked at the aerial .... clearly it was bent... i reached for it ... i tried the vanity of vanities ... i attempted to straiten it... my disappointment was confirmed as i felt the last bit of worried metal complete the fatigue ... there i was on the street with my aerial in my hand ... instead of anger... i felt a great sadness... what else had they hurt on our van i asked myself ... i could see no other evidence of violence ... but i felt sad ... for our van ... for the vandal(s) and for the vandalism i had participated in as a youth... my own acts of thoughtless violence that i thought funny for that moment... sigh ... karma ... universal amends ... a reckoning ... hey it is just an aerial ... i mean really... but sometimes it is so much more than just an aerial ... sometimes it is a small window into the person i have been and have become ... sooo.. this morning i am wondering if anyone has an aerial for sale ... ours is a 1989 Vanagon California ... the aerial is the one with the black tip yours
