Since propane is heavier than air (1.5 to 1 for air) if you're looking to detect just unburned propane, low is best for mounting a gas detector.Carbon monoxide and air are about the same weight so CO tends to disperse in that atmosphere, except ... when the environment is heated the CO tends to rise which is why volks often put that kind of detector higher, like on the closet cabinet. bob Soooo, the questions > is where should mount this thing?
