Yes, the spot was down the road/beach from the 4 Seasons Resort among
many others, but you can get your desolate spots if you look/ask, do
some research, etc. We have a "holoholo" route that we take from
Haiku to Hana, where we only stop & loiter at spots w/ significant
waterfalls w/ pools-about a half dozen of them, & few of them are on
the normal tourista routes, but all are accessible by vehicle. Water
is 72 degrees +-, & you can shampoo your hair w/ the ginger flowers
growing nearby, eat fresh picked guavas, mangoes, avocados, liliquois
(passion fruit-see Bob Stevens).
