That's a big deal for high-pressure oxygen, but the propane won't initiate any reaction with oil, they're both petroleum in different forms.

When I took the tank off my '84 for cleaning and painting, there was a quantity (few tablespoons maybe?) of extremely smelly oil in it -- I would imagine that the commercial propane sometimes has some admixture of oil, that accumulates in the tank.
