Subject: Changing my Gear Oil
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I just changed my gear oil to Redline MT-90. It was definitely a messy job - just cleaning around the plugs, however, I believe I made few mistakes. The gear oil was black and while the magnet attached much of the finings there was still some in the oil. (Glad to get it out of there.)

I did jack up the passenger side to more easy get under the van and even took off the wheel. It drained nicely and I thought I had about 5 qts out, but when I went to fill it would only take about 4 qts before it started dripping out of the fill hole. I let it drip until it stopped and then put the fill cap back on.

Then I realized what I did wrong - While draining I should have raised the front end to get that last quart out. (Next time I guess)
