Sure isn't my experience....... and I'm curious what is meant by 'hinge straps'. All I see is pivot points, linkage bars, etc. No hinges at all actually. Just places things pivot on pins.

maybe we're talking about different things. I just looked at my 85 Adventurewagon, where I took out a GL style 'plane rear seat' ........... and put in a Z bed from an 87 GL I believe. Nothing is involved with the floor of the van that I can see. The seat doesn't even touch the floor of the van. I didn't drill anything either. I have just that one not-perfect thing about where the top of the seat back latches to 'posts' .... I need to relocate those, where they are screwed into the side of the van, but it's working fine without those anyway. Scott www.turbovans.com
