Been there, done that, used the tee shirt to control the bleeding on my hand after I hit with the hammer holding the chisel. The hammer/chisel did get it loose and FWIW it was raining too.

That's why I have a 6 point socket on a breaker bar, the socket will hold and 'me' bouncing on the end of the bar has (so far) been enough to loosen the nuts/bolts.
