"That's why I have a 6 point socket on a breaker bar, the socket will hold and 'me' bouncing on the end of the bar has (so far) been enough to loosen the nuts/bolts." .... me too, 16", 1/2" drive breaker. Almost all of the "factory tools" that have come with vehicles I've had have been sized for convenient storage, not necessarily reliability, usefulness and the rigor of repeated use. Since I rotate every 5K mi. (spare mounted on swing-away on rear) I like leaving all of it in a handy-to-use location. The stuff I need for camping that you mentioned, I leave in the low cabinet in front of the closet. I suppose the downside is that I have to open the hatch to access the jack. And now, I'll be stowing a Hi Lift on that as well.
