  Auto gas (no lead) will work fine in Coleman stoves and lanterns.  Done it
for some time.
 There are quick release connectors for propane too.  You could make up a
hose, put a quick release fitting at each appliance and on your vehicle tank
and go that route.  You could make a T-fitting with a couple of shorter
hoses and  snake hoses all over your campsite to various camping gear or
just use a single hose and run only one thing at a time.  The quick release
fittings work really well.  I had one in a Dodge van that I carried
a Coleman propane stove stored away , except when I wanted dinner...I could
get out the stove and snap the line on and be cooking in about 30
seconds..Handy .  If you are paranoid about explosions you may want to not
leave your  Gas hose connected when not in use..I got lazy in my Dodge and
just left it snapped in (went through a hole in my floor to the under
vehicle tank)  Probably a little risky.
