This is vers. 5.3 and I have been running it fine on WIN98 & XP on desktop PC's, and I just installed it on a laptop (Dell Inspiron 1525 with 15.4" screen) also with WINXP. The problem is that the max resolution is 1280x800 not the required 1280x1024. But I discovered in Display Properties>Settings>Advanced> Monitor, there is a box checked "Hide modes this monitor cannot display", along with a warning about possible damage to software or even hardware if I use other resolutions. I unchecked the box, set the res. to 1280x1024, and now I can view the pages although I have to move the cursor near the edge to bring some parts into view. ETKA ran fine and aftewards, I restored the display back to normal with no apparent ill effects, at least, not yet. My question is, am I running a risk of possible damage? Thanks, Jerry |
