Dear list, just to let you know, I didnīt read all of the big brake postings lately. But the topic itself makes me want to chime in.
Many of you read my posts a few weeks (months?) ago, about my big brake setup. I am selling these in Germany and I was trying to set up a group purchase for you US folks, if anybody was interested. After about 70 people asking me about details, there were finally 2 (two!) who decided buying from me. I think, the whole setup was too expensive for most of them. But it should be obvious that such a brake kit is NOT available for 500 dollars (with all new stock audi parts for disc brakes on the rear and vented version on the front, including non-stock adaptors, centering rings, spacers etc). This is the posting which catched my attention: >Yeah what I've put out for brakes, pads, bolts and machining will be close >to $600 if not more. Just do a little calculating and see what a complete 4 disc kit might be worth... Maybe this posting seems out of context regarding the topic, but I promised to tell people what happened to the group purchase...it has been canceled for now :-)
