Vanagon.com has some old magazine ads, one shows the Hobie Cat. There is a tan Hobie Cat syncro Vanagon that I've seen around Green Bay, Wisconsin. Was Parked for about a year at an apartment on the bay--maybe the guy is a sail boarder?? Maybe your on the list? Seeing any syncro around here is very, very rare. Of course I left a note offering to buy it. I recall there were some misc engine parts in the cargo area. I should have made more of an attempt to buy it, although, I think I had 2 vanagons, wife and 2 kids at the time. I had to let the 88GL go. "...Also, we were in Portland for Cinco De Mayo and saw this Hobie Cat Vanagon downtown. Sadly it was also covered in ice cream stickers. Does anyone know more about the Hobie Cat special? Came with a sailboard, right? Brendan............." |
