cool Vern................so does the hose that goes to the propane units
used outside the van .........does the hose just go out the side door, or
does it come from under the van .......so sliding door can be closed, and
stuff still left hooked up ?
btw, if I'm thinking of the right guy in Bend......
he's got a super cool air-cooled vanagon.
Almost 3 liters of six cylinder corvair engine power .......
upgraded brakes, rebuilt from one end to the other with impecible
workmanship .....
and ...........something I've never seen before........
he has a 5 speed trans .......an american unit.....
and what it is as I understand it ...........it's a GM adaptation of a
transmission like you'd have in a front engine, rear drive car ......
but it's bolted to a differential unit and bell housing .........so it's a
front engine car's transmission........engineered to use in a transaxle
configuration, 5 speeds, and I bet nice tall gearing too.
Very showed me a 'factory new' corvair crankshaft.......not
reground/rebuilt .........NEW ........I've probalby never seen a NEW
crankshaft before. But Vern .........I think you should toss that corvair
engine, , and get my 4.5 liter mercedes V-8 and put that in there instead
!
