ABS can 'fix' all kinds of faults with a braking system. As long as the ABS continues to work properly and dependably you should not have to worry much. I really can't see the reasoning behind giving the rears more braking power and then taking it back, in a panic stop or low traction situation by relying on an Anti lock Braking System to save your bacon. Maybe it makes the car 'ride better' day to day or maybe the engineers thought it would be easier to replace pads more often at the rear wheels. Maybe they just misscalculated the braking bias.. Whatever, the braking performance always depends on the available traction at the tire contact patches. As soon as the forces overcome the traction to a wheel, it is done helping you (much) stop until it regains traction..An ABS system doesn't *increase force* to the skidding wheel, it tries to momentarily release braking force to regain traction on that wheel...much like old time racers or truckers 'pumped the brakes' during emergency braking. Very sophisticated ABS systems, like those found on some race cars or high performance sports cars have the capacity to actually steer the car through a corner above the limits of it's normal traction. The drivers just 'jam the car' into a corner at a silly speed, stomp down on the brake pedal and crank the wheel over. The ABS takes over from there, adjusting the traction and braking to various ends and wheels of the car to get it round as best it's been programed to do..The driver just sits there and hangs on with his foot down on the brake until it becomes time to accelerate out of the corner..
