Does anyone know (no guesses please) if a replacement catalytic converter must come with a manufacturers warranty card? I've looked on various EPA sites and most of the literature describes laws relating to emissions failures during the warranty period.
I recently got a replacement cat on my Vanagon and they installed a generic cat by welding it in, charged me $500 and did not give me any warranty card. I'd like to know my rights before paying the credit card bill. Its hopless tarying to call the MVD or Emissions Office in Arizona as you can never get a live person.
