    Jim, unfortunately this is the one small defect of  the Shady Boy.
Water will run off the awning towards the van, no matter  how much you have it
tilted downwards and will not hit the roof gutter.  It  is directed down the
sides of the van and if the slider door is open the water  WILL go down the
INSIDE of the slider and wreak havoc on the cardboard door  panel.  I have
been trying for some time to invent some sort of  extension for the Shady
Boy that will fix this problem but so far I have had no  time to devote to
this project.  Way too many broken Vanagons in my lane  way.
