Hi Robert The O2 sensor fine tunes the mixture, however the engine should run close to the correct mixture (maybe a little rich) without it. I would look to see if the Temp 2 sensor is working and connected (wiring check), throttle position switch setting and Intake air sensor in the AFM. Dave '86 Westy
