Looked all over - and hit the 14 inch wall everywhere - at least for what I wanted - which was a 205/70 or 75/R14 Load Range C-D. Not to be found. Lots of passenger type tires, but not what I needed. Then the General Altimax RT came up in a thread here, and I looked into that. Tire Rack had them in a size I wanted. I had to resolve the specs - Service Description was 98 T, and Load Range XL. After looking hard at those numbers, and getting some info from Dennis Haynes on this tire - I decided it was for me. Price on the Rack was $58, cost for delivery to my zip code was $50, and local installation was $20/tire. Total was $370. I fidgeted over that cost, then did some research locally and came up with four Altimax RT's in the same size for total of $300 mounted, balanced and installed. Those tires ride so much better than the Michelin XCA's that were on there. I am delighted! John Rodgers 88 GL Driver |
