Just got a chance to watch the Stage 13 through the Vosges Mountains. I was out camping in Vertmont at West River Westies over the weekend. Lots of Vanagon Westy lining the roads. There were 4 or 5 in a row near the Col du Platzerwasel ( the second big climb) in the rain. Obviously a French VW Van group or club. Anyone on the List?? I have personally climbed, during a big euro-tour on my DellaSanta, the Col de la Schucht and Platzerwasel to vacation in one of the many Auberges around the Munster Valley. My relatives are from this part of Alsace where all the wine is good and the munster cheese has that unique smell. Wild blueberries grow on all of these mountains, easily filling buckets at a time. This is a great place to vacation in the summer time. Or in the fall to sample the vin-nouveau from Alsace.
