Last year while battling my lug nuts some list member suggested one of these 12V impact wrenches: http://tinyurl.com/qxz9g . I dug it out of my back cabinet to give it a try when I did my shocks this weekend. I must say it performed very well. It spins awhile to get the torque up then "grabs" to break the bolts. It had the lug nuts off in no time. Much better than using the regular lug wrench. It had the rear shock bolts off in seconds. (I had been PB blasting the bolts for a week BTW). For the front shock lower bolts it was good for breaking them but since they were so tight it would just spin awhile turn the bolt a fraction, spin, etc. It was faster to do them by hand after they were broken. Worth the $29 to have it on the road. Bryan |
