Again, this doesn't show with the hatch down When on the side of the highway at night you should have your set of triangles deployed -- they're much more effective than flares, and don't burn out in fifteen minutes. One a few feet from the vehicle on the road side, the other two laid out in a diagonal stretching back a hundred feet or so. NAPA has an excellent set for ~US$28 or so.
