Hi all- I am looking at purchasing a 1984, 1.9L Westfalia in Southern California and want to be educated about emissions system before I make an offer. Does anyone know if all Vanagons came with CA emissions by 1984 or were there still Vanagons sold with Federal emissions systems? How can I tell if the owner doesn't know? I sold my '81 with a Federal emissions systems because parts were NLA (the van is headed out of state for its retirement). I want to be certain I am getting a CA system. And yes, of course, I will insist it be smogged and pass before I buy. Thanks! Melissa Sacramento, CA Westy-less:-( |
