Having just read your post I think the gov is going to great lengths
to be 100% sure these engine never see usage ever again.
How much time and money does it cost them to have the engine destroyed
in this way?
How do you use an engine that has liquid metal in it for scrap metal
now it has this glass added to the internal parts of the engine?
Wouldn't that make it really hard to recycle?
Thanks Jim for the enlightening info.
I can only hope the our Vanagon brethren will pack the old vans away
and never scrap them to use to use as parts or maybe VW will just wake
up and build us the van we have been asking for for 10 years.
