And therein lies the crux of the debate - different tastes. Personally I don't at all mind using two hands to close my rear hatch, since I happen to have two hands. (Actually, one well placed hand also works, but just barely.) I much prefer that to being beaned in the head with my hatch, which starts to happen much too soon after installing weaker struts IMHO.
