<<It runs off of 12 volts or 110 but either way it gets super cold, enough to make ice in the freezer section and it is super efficient so that you can run it off of a battery for almost a week without a charge. If you have a solar setup it could last even longer. Here is a link to Karl Mulendore's site where he talks about the fridge: http://www.westyventures.com/parts.html>>

I have the Virfrigio installed in my 89 Westy. I believe the refrigerator draws 2.8 amps, and in my experience runs 15 to 20 minutes per hour. That works out to about an amp per hr. If you use a standard car battery in the 55 amp hour rating, and do not want to run it down past 50% routinely to avoid premuture failure, that would leave about 25 amp hours available, not including lights, stereo, and what ever else you may run. So, running the refrigerator for a week sounds rather optimistic to me. Perhaps you installed a super heavy duty 100 amp hour battery? Even so, that's 50 hrs or about two days without charge.

I am very pleased with my refrigerator, and on Karl's site you can actually see my setup. I installed a drawer above mine and have the Atwood heater. I do question the amount of time you can run the refrigerator though, particularly with the type of battery most of us use. I do agree it's a great fridge though, and I've had no complaints.
