was Toyota even considering buying GM ? I think they are TOO SMART to do that !

( sorry it's long, don't read it ! lol )

Toyota has their hands full as it is. They posted their first annual loss in the history of the company last year, going back some 50 years to the beginning of Toyota. And they are looking mighly silly right now having invested horrendous sums in manufacturing plants for big SUV-like trucks...... their big Tundra in Texas for example. ( Honda, in contrast, did not jump on the Big SUV & Truck thing ......not whole hog like many of the other manufacturers. Honda was smart there, and conservative, and are still doing all right. )

GM has been a debacle for years and years. in retorspect that's crystal clear now. we will see what happens, but probability is high that GM will rally a bit..........then fall back into the doldrums as usual, and just continue to loose money.

about 'jobs' ........ can't they see it would be 10,000 time easier and more cost effecient to just pay people to stay at home....... and give them lots of entertainment video's and counsling on preventing domestic violence ( from being at home all the time ) .

this would be far more effecient that PAYING to make things we obviously don't need so much right now .....'more cars' . Though of course......... there is the fuel econonmy aspect of newer cars, compared to old ones......so that part makes some sense.

it's not 'free enterprise' anymore when the gov bails out businesses. the idea of Free Enterprise is ....... those that make good products at a reasonable price..............they prevail. those that makes products that do not stand up in the market place in a financially viable way ...... then those business fold and go into something else.

oh ! I know what's gonna happen ! ..... the governemt will owe so many trillions of dallars, and the value of a US dollar will be so low....... that they'll have to re-value it ..............so 'on paper' the gov doesn't owe trillions...... and somehow' theoretically' .........our dollar will be worth more. Sorta like when a stock doubles ....... except that it wont' represent more in True Value ..... it'll just 'sort of seem like that' ................trying to make something really bad not seem so bad. and .... I KNEW ......I knew when I was 6 or 7 years old, ............something is just 'off' about the notion of 'the economy.' Somethin' just ain't right there. All that really matters is how many toys and airplanes and cars humans make on the planet everyday...........and what it costs the planet. All that 'economy' and 'dollars' talk ............those are just numbers, and not truly related to what humans do.

and it's sad to see money being printed and passed around to 'create jobs' . It's far more effecient to pay people to stay at home. Infintely so...........counting envirnomant factors like energy and time consumed going to work, the carbon footprint of making anything ....... all that, it would be 100 times more effecient to pay people to not work, overall, I dare suggest.

This is exciting, we're getting to witness the crumbling of something that has been built up over the last 250 years....... the economic developement of north america. Ya can't go on forever making jillions of toys and cars and more people....... and warming up the planet and all that ............eventually, something has to shift or change or fall apart. My hope it that greed and consumerism wil become less important to humans out of all this.

and I would 10 times rather work for Toyota than GM. other than a few brilliant things they've done ............GM is part of the Evil Empire, including the gov, as far as I'm concerend. As Suze Orman put it about the subprime mortage debackle and the real estate crisis ....... it was like a wild drunken party ...........and now we have woken up the next day, and see that we've ( or GM in this case, along with the gov ) have been acting irrisponsibly all this time. And now we gotta pay for that indiscretion. Funny too.......GM once had about 70 % market share in the US. And VW was the top importer too.

ok,.........back to being in the moment. At least things are interesting. Hell, just pass out the money, and stop making so many things !!!
