To give you some example of how well my BOSTIG runs....I put the thing in,
and literally put 200 test miles on it before driving it across the country!
It's a piece of cake to install and work with if you know your way around a
vanagon. I'm now 6000 miles into my kit and can't say enough about it. My
first test drive was in the end of May, so that's a ton of miles in a short
time period.
I drive at 75mph all day long, have just about hit 100mph on the bonneville
Salt Flats, and have a running average right now of 23mpg. I can buy parts
at any FLAPS and they have them in stock and cheap (All my hoses, belts,
engine bits, etc), and my engine can literally log itsself and "call home"
to Bostig via an email which they can analyze and tell me if all is well.
(Very handy when troubleshooting problems!).
I've done the WBX thing. Heck i've been on this list for nearly 5 years now.
I've put WBXers back together, learned their systems, and helped others in
the process. But now I have a vanagon that every morning I can put the Key
in, turn the key, and go. There is never a question of whether or not it
will go. And when I want to go faster, I press the right pedal. When I want
to go slower, I press the Middle Pedal. Sometimes I need to press the Left
pedal as well. How much more simple can you get?
I leave for another 3000 miles here soon (August 10th), and I look forward
to further proving to myself that this bus is now everything I wished it
could be (Well, its not a syncro yet....).
As their company says, It's "Engine Voodoo".
But I like it : )
Sincerely,
Craig Cowan
