The long, undersized wires and the undersized thermostat/fan switch, that often fails, result in a significant voltage drop to the fan in the rear AC unit, resulting in a loss of air flow. Add a group of three 40 amp load reduction relays in the rear AC housing and supply fused current with 10 gauge wires from the distribution post in the engine compartment and add a good ground. My experience is the fan will then blow as much air on medium as it now blows on high.

If you are not sure if this is worth doing, check the voltage AT THE FAN in the rear AC unit.

This modification will also save your expensive thermostat/fan switch from future failure.

The fan motor could also be starting to fail. These things have a tendency to draw more current as they age, resulting in increased voltage drop and reduction in air flow as described above, followed by failure of the fan switch. Adding the load reduction relays will postpone replacing the fan motor for a few years.
