If the level is still up then I would say you are looking at a failure of the master cylinder. I have never heard of a MC to fail in this way before. Have you been recently doing any brake work? Sometimes if you compress the front calipers it can push junk up into the MC and kill it. However usually you just get spongy pedal, not total failure. Let me know if I can help you further.
