If you have the right alternator, a direct replacement for the original
Bosch unit, there ARE two screws holding the regulator/brush pack in place.
The alternator light on the dash, IIRC, has a small battery next to it.
When all is okay that light will light when the key is turned on but the
engine not started, goes out as soon as the engine is running and the
alternator starts to work.
