82 diesel vanagon does not ( at least originally ) have an aluminum/plastic radiator. A pure all-metal unit. "pre-plastic era'. It's a Great upgrade though to a plastic/aluminum one. ! they weigh massively less, and remove heat better. A very standard upgrade. there's a metal pipe on the ride side of the stock 82 DV radiator. That could be rusted through. or just 'radiator has finally had it and it's starting to leak' though I have not seen that too much in dozens of DV's worked on. if anyone wants to buy, inexpensively, a stock DV metal radiator - to recore. Before I take 'em for metal recycling ...... now's the time to get one. heavy to ship though.
