Not exactly. My wife and I lived in our other van for 2 straight months last summer with an electric only fridge and no charging during that time other than the alternator while driving. It worked fine stopped for as many as 3 nights in a row without starting the engine. We did not try longer than that at a stretch. Of course we had 2 Group 48 batteries running it rather than the single aux battery we have in this current van. This current van had a charging path problem, uncovered by the electric only fridge installation. The van we used last year had new wiring for the aux battery setup since I had time to do a proper setup.
