Subject: Update: Solved: Alternator not putting out volts 88 GL

All: Problem solved.

This was likely elementary to all of you and if I had my Bentley, I would have hopefully solved sooner.

Male spade terminal coming out the back of the alt was the proper place to connect the blue exciter wire. I cut off the newly attached ring terminal. Added a new female spade terminal. Plugged everything back up...and VOILA! No more battery light.

Thinking back to my original breakdown...it was likely the culprit all along.

But thanks to Advance, I do have a new alternator and new battery for $0!

Battery is showing 14+ volts while running!

Thanks to all for your help. Now back to my "list" of fixing stuff.
