I am in the process of changing out my radiator for the newer version, in
fact that part of the project is done, I just have multiple related problems
to solve so am replacing the heater hoses, valve, and the rear portion of
the steel pipes, as well as checking condition of fuel tank vents, etc.
Mine is an 82 Diesel also.  I will be posting a "tutorial" on this with pics
when I get done.  The radiator swap seems to be the easiest part.  I "cut"
an upper mount from a junker, and pulled the lower mounts and an 85 fan
shroud as well as the pigtail wiring for the temp sensor (get at least 1 ft
of the three wires).
