Max:

I believe you are referring to Chris (loogy) at http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=656981 Great guy, and I have done business with in the past.

The Vanagon alloy wheels use a 60°conical seat, which is different than the Mercedes rims. The steel rims use a 24.5mm ball seat. Mercedes wheels use a 22 and 26mm ball seat; the Vanagon uses a 24.5mm. PLEASE do not ignore this fact or your life could be in danger! I would definitely go with Chris for spacers as his spacers are specifically machine for the Vanagon . You will have to remove grease cap to get the spacer on, but it is slightly loose fit to the wheel, so that it will stay with the hub, (not the wheel) and not pull off the grease cap when you remove the wheels, but the first time you put them on you do have to remove the grease cap. This can also cause problems with your spare as the spacer stays on the vehicle, and you'll need longer bolt from that point on. The rears to not have any such problem. There is really no way around this. I'm not so sure that a stock billet spacer would be machined correctly, but Chris has done his homework.
