SO....
My sailing classes that I teach were canceled today because its strangely
cold and overly windy. As a result, I went down the street to grab something
to drink at the local texaco station in Sparks Nevada, where I randomly run
into racing legend Mario Andretti! I guess they had been doing some
promotional thing there that I just missed. Anyway, we got to talking and he
had just finished a cross country trip and when I said that I had done the
same, he was intrigued. When I said I was from PA, he was even more
interested. It turns out he's from Allentown Pennsylvania. Anyway, we got to
talking along with his crew and publicity guy that's blogging about his
experiences and I ended up showing him the zetec. He was very impressed with
the fact that people are putting modern engines into older vehicles. I gave
them a screaming rev when I drove away and they all seamed impressed.

Anyway, I thought some of you might want to see a picture of Myself with the
racing legend and a Vanagon all in one image. I have pictures of him and I
and the bus on my facebook account if anyone's interested, I attached a link
at the bottom of the email. I ended up getting a card for $50 of free gas
from him too : )
