I was talking about the critical funky nature of how waterboxer heads have
to fit just so,
and how some may not.
and I wouldn't have said a word if a comment had not been made about my
comment in the first place.
and it wasn't a rant Mark.
I have never said subaru engines are perfect.
they do have a better head gasket design than a waterboxedr, and yes, it's
not uncommon for subaru engines to have what you mentioin.
I have heard of Legacy auto transmissions going out before you'd think they
should.
I don't own one, and likely never will.
I just see the engines to put in vanagons.......
and I don't say they are the 'knat's ass' for a being a perfect engine
either.
what year, sounds like a US made one to me ?
but .......the point you are trying to make .......at least as far as
concerns me is off,
I do not say subaur's are perfect and VW are junk.
in fact....I have basially zero complaints about 90 % of the vanagon.
Some of the best and longest lasting suspension and drive train there is.
I can think of parts in them that last absolutely indeffenitly - my kinda
car and design !
Easy to work on too.
hey.......you should hear what I think of al 1979 and earlier VW Buses.
now there is are a few things I have opions about.

I probaby said 'joke headgaskets' ............and that is my opinion.
Every one has one you know .......just like they have a nose, or another
body part - it's a famous saying if you've heard it.

completely far reaching and extra broad knowledge about all aspects vanagon.
Or at least it doesn't seem that you appreciate that about me.
I read every last post of yours since I know I'm likely to learn a detail or

and if you think I think subaru's are by far the best car on earth.........I
can't imagine where you get that idea. I've never said they don't blow up,
and that they don't have head gasket issues .....they for sure do, most
deffenitely. I'm sorry you own one. have a great day.
