I just got back from a 13 state trip. CT,NY,PA,IL,CO and so on....You get the idea of the loop we took from CT,to see Mt.Rushmore,Crazy Horse,Parts of the Lincoln Highway,Yellowstone.... We had only seen about 5 Van total. If we get further west next year I hope to see more.

I have to address this c.omment about airstreams....(well more like comment about them myself) 1. The Go Westy type: (not badmouthing anyone here, just casual observation from my perspective) These folks want a Vanagon because they're so cool.. so not mainstream, and they want them perfect. These folks are like people who buy 'perfect' older Airstream trailers rather than brand new Prevost motorcoaches

My inlaws purchased an old Airstream and spent the summer restoring it. They had it perfect. New axles, flooring, cabinets refinished, even replaced a few of the aluminum sheets. They puchased a special tool for the rivits you see all over the trailer....I mean it was perfect. Looks like it stepped out of a 72 brochure. We got stuck in a hailstorm while at Crooked Creek campground in Hill City,SD . The top of their airstream got a few dents from the hail. A brand new airstream parked right near them was damaged much worse. The newer airstreams are made with much thinner aluminum than the older ones. The only damage we had was my Fiamma awning was damaged as I fell asleep without tilting it enough. If it had rained that would have been no problem but the ice stuck together and tore it down.
