I've been reading the comments about analog vs. digital chargers. Interesting!

Does anyone have experience with the Promariner Prosport line? In my '84 camper, I recently installed a 44AH deep cycle aux battery and a Promariner Prosport 12 that automatically charges both batteries when shore power is plugged in:

I haven't used it much yet. Anything I should look out for? It seems to do the job, but I haven't yet camped long enough to really run down the aux battery.

When I installed the aux battery, I added an ammeter shunt in the main feed. I'm curious to monitor the load/charge current. I used this Westach kit (just because I like the Westach stuff I've installed in light aircraft):

I bought a second shunt for the starter battery, but I haven't found a good place to install it yet. The starter battery takes up all of the space in the compartment beneath the passenger seat.

I haven't installed the meter itself yet. I thought I might fabricate a replacement monitor panel and mount the meter in place of the battery lights, with a switch to select between the two shunts.
