The Eurovan seats I installed in the '87 Westy are much more comfortable and supportive than the stockers but needed more travel.  I removed the driver's seat and notched the rails so it would slide about 2" farther back, greatly increasing legroom.  Someone on Samba did this and it seemed like a good idea and an easy upgrade.  See pics at:
