Hi all.

Might have been droppage, campfire smoke, or beer stains, but my trusty-old 9+ YO "peanut" Motorola phone, (RIP), finally died.

Old meets new:

Being loath to invest in crap, 6000 apps, Mach3 Text Capabilities, or a new uber-bloated plan, I researched online. $80+tax Cnd. later, I climb the Gizmo Ladder to a Samsung R500.

It takes 1.3 MP pictures! It plays songs! It can have GB's of memory! It works with my existing cheap PCS plan.

And it's much more sexy than my old one.

I'm in Cell Phone Love. <grin>

Fellow Telus Vanagon Canucks. "Prepaid" version is on sale at London Drugs:

Bonus: prepaid minutes *may* end up on your Telus PCS plan. YMMV, but after phone activated online, saw "SAMSUNG R500 P&T BONUS ACCESSORY". Ensure LD has stock on hand. Don't waste yer time like I did.

- "Yah. We show 13". - Pffft.

I post this because we all know how important a cell phone is when on the road with our Westy/Vanagons.

Enjoy!

Neil.

PS. Now I get why people cross intersections with abandon while staring at their phone. Or why *every* night at work, when the lights go up (intermission) lots-o-people flip open their phone to see who's called/texted/whateverrrrrr.

Now *I* can stare at my phone and cross an intersection with abandon!
