Shoot, pard...

Yer out in the country now (Bend is country to a former 'fornian, right?) Yuh gotta git a Stetson. No body be mistaken you for a German in one a them hats. It's almost Friday..so You do realize you can pretty much tell where a cowboy is from by the shape of his hat, right? Texans wear em one way, Wyoming 'pokes wear a different roll and shape...and you NEVER touch a cowboy's hat in the bar, lessen you are ready to fight. What's this have to to with Germans and VW vans? When I lived in Wyoming and worked as a Ski Patroller in Jackson Hole for years we would do year long "Exchanges" with Austrian, French or German ski patrollers from the Alps. Exchange jobs and living situations for a full season. We convinced Managment that this was a great opportunity to learn from other Ski Patrols... I traveled to Telluride for a week-long exchange..same deal with domestic areas..and I took along our French/German exchange patroller, Girard (and his search dog, Rommel) ..from the Trois Valles (sp?). He was fascinated with the American west and was the one who actually pointed out to me that the cowboys in Colorado wore their hats very differently than the Wyoming cowboys... I never really noticed before he pointed that out in Ouray in the beer store.. So, I actually did learn something from the Patrol exchange program..(besides how to party like they do in Euro, or all across the other western US ski resorts) Don Hanson On Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 7:47 PM, Rocket J Squirrel < camping.elliott@gmail.com> wrote:
