I must confess I don't do much rust repair down here in Florida, and windshield areas are tricky. I concede that the fiberglass POR method is most likely better for small and restricted access areas like the windshield. Thanks for sharing your techniques Frank.

MIG welder, right here in the shop, use it almost every day, no problem. BUT grinding down the welds in the area of the windshield corners where NEW metal is needed is not fun and does not work as well as the POR-15 and Fiberglas method. The heat from welding just burned off all the paint and undercoating on the inside of the frame where you can't see. What do you do about that now ? My method has no come backs, not yet anyways. Maybe before I retire I'll see one.
