Last week around this time I asked if any one had transported a Vespa scooter in a Westy. Lots of people apparently transported dirt bikes, mopeds, smaller motorcycles, etc. Others, with passenger vans, removed the seats and carried them. But with some careful measurements, it wouldn't fit. The Vespa is wide at both the back end and the front end due to the fenders and general design. So, I managed to Shanghai a friend of mine to be my "wingman", and so we drove from Hull, MA to my home in Dartmouth, MA - a distance of 62 miles through the backroads and byways of Massachusetts. Interesting ride...not sure if I'd do it again on a 50cc Vespa, but it was an experience...
Thanks to all of those who provided advice, etc...
Ric
